Total nonsense, rubbish. What it may be trying to say is "The pathway to your dreams may not be smooth and it could even come at a great cost. If you like the word "coast", it would have to be something like ".... and it could take you all the way to the (east/west) coast before you reach them (i.e. your dreams)."
